The Sabres' dominant start is just starting to dwindle a little, going 5-3-1 in the last nine, but they've accumulated lots of cred to this point so we'll wait and see how their current five-game road swing turns out.

1 (1) Sabres 20-4-2 We don't think a loss to the Capitals is really enough to knock the Sabres off their perch and we can't hold it against Buffalo that it played fewer games than Anaheim over the last week. The Sabres still lead the league in scoring (4.15 GAA). And Paul Gaustad and Adam Mair won over more fans after coming to Daniel Briere's defense last weekend.
