Chances are probably not good they extend NC.
You see their goal is to see if they can possibly get to 50 million under next years salary cap so signing Nate won't be in the cards.

We have 33 million in cap space and Clements is our best defensive player, he better get resigned or I'm going to start losing faith in this franchise.

There is a 36.29% chance Clements is resigned according to my calculations....

We certainly have the cap space.

But Nate will be one of the premier free agents on the market up there with Freeney. He will likely command 50-55 mil.

So it comes down to whether Marv and Ralph want to spend the money. And of course all that is assuming Nate even wants to be here.

If it came down to signing one or the other, which would you guys rather have, Freeney or Nate?
I think Freeney would be a bigger draw, as he is a premier pass-rusher and has ties to UpState NY ('Cuse fans anyone?)

Freeney. Schobel and Freeney as bookends would be a nasty pass rush. that would make things a lot easier on the secondary.

I think Nate likes the fact that he would get to play with his boy McGee and some fellow alumni. ( Whitner and Youboty.. ) He has great chemistry with other players on our defense. If we match the best offer, he will be a Buffalo Bill.

How does having Freeney AND Schobel solve our rush D problem?

If Marv decides JP is the Bills guy next year then they should use the first pick on a DT.

I'm sorry Sabz, I'm still confused on which specific areas of the team you want to put the money towards.

I think its the first true test for Marv to be honest. Nate has stepped up and shown hes worth it as of late. We need to lock him up long term. If we go the cheapo route, we will suffer IMO. We need to not worry about our CB's locking up Nate ensures that.

Not sure if I missed something but I thought the $33 mil we will have in cap space already doesn't unclude Fletcher and Clements since they ARE NOT signed next year? How does that get us to $50 mil below the cap?
