    Here are your Rochester Americans!!!

AMERKS PARTNER WITH TIME WARNER TO LAUNCH ITS NEWEST NETWORK

(Rochester, December 8)… The Rochester Sports Group and Time Warner Cable officials announced today the launching of a new local sports programming network. Time Warner SportsNet (TWSN) will be available in customers’ homes beginning Saturday, December 15th, bringing them the best in local sports coverage at no additional cost. TWSN programming is exclusive to Time Warner Cable Standard Tier customers, and is not available on Dish or DirecTV.
TWSN’s first live event will be an American Hockey League game between the Rochester Americans and the Hamilton Bulldogs that evening from The Blue Cross Arena. Time Warner has partnered with the Rochester Sports Group to bring the Amerks (AHL), Knighthawks (NLL), Rhinos (USL First Division) and Rattlers (MLL) into the homes of millions of subscribers.

“This partnership is truly historic for our local professional sports teams,” said Rochester Sports Group President and CEO, Steve Donner. “With the creation of the sports network by Time Warner Cable, our teams will gain major league exposure in the community. It will also allow us to strengthen our brand in Rochester and the surrounding area for our fans and sponsors.”

“The addition of this new channel is another example of Time Warner Cable’s dedication and focus on our local community. SportsNet will bring our customers valuable programming that they can’t get anywhere else,” said Terence Rafferty, Division President of Time Warner Cable. “I can’t thank the local Rochester-based teams enough for working alongside us during the development of the network, and for allowing us to deliver live sports programming to the Rochester marketplace. This new dynamic has brought our existing partnerships with these teams to a whole new level.”

TWSN - Cable Channel 26 - will feature live games from local teams like the Amerks, Knighthawks, Rhinos, Rattlers, and RazorSharks basketball team. SportsNet will air 13 live Amerk home games and eight on a tape-delayed basis. The Knighthawks will have all eight of their home games on the new network with four games airing live and four tape-delayed. Additional road games will be added to the schedule in the coming weeks.

It will also bring fans live basketball and football games from Syracuse University and the Big East Conference. Further, the channel will offer additional national sports content, ESPN News, coverage of local high school and college games.

We had Empire who owned the Sabres and covered the Bills and all Rochester sports but when Adelphia went bankrupt Adelphia decided to pull the plug on Empire because they only had one show the Empire Sports Report airing because of the NHL Lockout. They decided to put crappy NFL Network on it's place.

I root for the Amerks for obvious reasons, but I'll keep my dish and the Sabres games, thank you very much

This is pretty sweet. I can't wait to see what they put on.

Hopefully they will have a sports talk show on, that talks about the Bills and Sabres too.

it's only going to do with Rochester Sports
Rochester Americans hockey will be the first live sports event when Time Warner Sports Net launches on Friday.

The local sports network, cable channel 26, joins the Time Warner lineup Friday morning and will bring a multitude of local sporting events.

Among the events booked are 17 live Amerks games, including four from the road; four Knighthawks lacrosse games; six RazorSharks basketball games; and 10 Syracuse University basketball games.

Steve Arvan, operations director for TWSN, said negotiations continue to bring Red Wings baseball on board.

The network also will televise Rochester-area college and high school events, such as Section V basketball from Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial.

To fill daytime programming, TWSN will often air ESPN News, which is still channel 203 for digital subscribers

But I've heard that they are talking about doing some kind of FanTV type show on the channel too that also talks about the professional teams from Buffalo.
