Marv, get er done, the guy needs to stay here for good!

The last thing we need is to be worse by subtraction!

I'm ready to get on this bandwagon! That way we can bring Ashton along slowly and faze him at McGee's spot. McGee can then be nickelback/returnman, and IMO, we'll be much better off....

Nate has given signals this week taht he is going elsewhere. the comments about him being frustrated about not being in the playoffs is a clear indicator.

that having been said, ralph needs to pony up and pay him enough to stay.

Nate has to agree to a reasonable contract. He isn't worth top 5 money and he thinks he is

He is pretty damm close to top 5.

He made MArvin Harrison his personal *****. That is not an easy task.

HUH? Why phase out Mcgee. Why not make Youboty the nickleback?

which is why he won't be here next year imo

He reminds me of Plaxico Buress ... he can be the best in the league by far one game, then look like he should be playing high school ball the next game. Really pisses me off.

I see no reason not to pay him what hes worth. Furthermore, isnt it worth even extra money to lock this position up and not lose by subtraction? With 38 mill under the cap?

Yep. If at all possible front-load the contract so he eats up cap space next year without hogging room in future years.

Letting him go and signing a big time LT or DT, just creates a hole while plugging one.

He did? I could have sworn I saw a ton of help for Clements. Just like last year when he needed a safety AND a linbacker to slow down Steve Smith.

Clements isn't one of the top 5 CB's in this league and isn't worth the money he wants. Everyone seems to forget the YEARS of average play in which from time to time he would have a game like this. Just because in a contract year he has decided the last few games to pick it up some isn't enough to warrant a huge contract.

Yes pay him what he is worth... a 10-15 range CB, NOT a top 5 CB. He isn't one and demands to be paid like one.

Lines make the players behind them better. We need a much better DL and OL. Fix those then worry about skill positions.

let me add, we did your approach for the last few years, how did that work out? Address the lines first and formost THEN skill positions. Lets try a winning way of building a team for once.

Pay him the money, Ralph. He needs to stay here next year or we won't be able to fill all our needs to get us into the playoffs.

I sure hope we can re-sign him however my gut says 1 of 2 things will happen.

1. They wont pay him what he wants

or

2. They make a great offer and Nate simply chooses not to stay.

I saw that interception, and the first thing I thought was "Bye, Nate!". He's really stepped it up over the past few weeks and some other team is absolutely going to outbid us for his services.

The good news- our pass D was just fine today without both McGee and Whitner- that gives me at least some hope that we can recover from losing Nate.

I am willing to bet that one of the LB's either from Chicago or Indy will be tops on Marvs list. then a couple guards and DT, and WR.

They will offer nate a top 10-15 contract which is what he deserves...which he will promptly turn down.

It has to be either Samuel or Clements.

If they can get him without breaking the bank...I'm all for it. I'd hate to lose him if he's going to keep playing like this.

Either would be good, but I'd prefer Nate.

yeah...he's been playing lights out football since the Bye in this system....with starting secondary-mates TMac, Donte, and Ko...we keep those 4 together...nothing's gonna get past them often

He's top 5 and he's going to ask for #1 money. Whatever we offer him won't be enough!! Trust me. 70 million won't be enough. Are we going to use 2/3's of our cap for his signing bonus?
