      Re: Bowen

He's been one guy who I would consider a bust for Marv. Watching him in camp, I really expected him to see a lot of time on the field this year, even with Donte Whitner starting. He looked pretty good.

          From billsdaily:

Leonhard Gets Nod Over Bowen: As we reported yesterday, in a bit of a surprise the Bills started Jim Leonhard over Matt Bowen at strong safety replacing the injured Donte Whitner. Coach Jauron said after the game the reason behind the move was because he has had the most work at the position, he has been working all year there. He called Leonhard a real good football player who played well in the win. He has a good feel for the game and is real smart and has excelled at every level because he's a terrific athlete. He doesnt' feel like he get the credit because he's small.

In my opinion Bowen should have been placed on IR earlier this year while Troy Vincent was retained.

Agreed. Vincent's veteran presence would have been what this young team needed.

Interesting point. In retrospect, given Bowen's lack of impact, that might have been a good idea. I suppose that at the time they probably expected Bowen to get healthy sooner and live up to his shiny new contract
Wake up, brush your teeth, and get ready for a day of hating the Dolphins. Or the Pats? How to choose?

Bowen looked sharp as a razor in run support though during the preseason.
