The salary does not count after the trading deadline. That is when teh cap expires.

DAMN that is some great news. Adding Connolly to the roster is going to really put us over the top in a couple months. Here's to hoping for no headaches :beer:

This is TREMENDOUS news.

If he is as fast and capable of a puck handler... I think he can fit anywhere on the team. Heck, you could now make a forth line capable of scoring! I wonder how he would fit in Roy/Afino/Vanek line. Roy has been a bit off lately, and Connoly seems like he would be a perfect fit. I expect to see him in 40 games, maybe more. Don't rush him, we have a good thing going.

I don't see Connolly contributing much this season

If he truely hasn't even worked out since the hit, it will take him 60-90 days just to get pre-injury conditioning.

He "might" be ready to play in April- but the rust will be huge. I only see him getting any serious playing time if there is a huge plague of injuries

Getting Connolly back for the second half is like getting a damn good player in a trade. It's awesome.

Of course, hes had multiple concussions already.

He'll still go across the middle with his head down, just you wait and see.

He can replace Kotalik on the point during the power play. Kotalik is useless other than the power play and an occasional shootout. He is a liability on defense.
