Last month at the gm meetings in Toronto, a lot of the big market bad teams (read: Philly, St. Louis), and a few of the good but slower teams (Anahiem, Detroit) pushed to have the league go back to pre-lockout officiating.
Apparently as the story went, Buffalo and Toronto threw a fit at the suggestion and it was tabled...
Now i find myself watching a LOT of western conference games this year... and I'll be honest... that whole conference plays the trap, and clutch and grab like they did pre-lockout.
And a few of the more recent sabres games I've seen, teams are trapping as well as they can manage... and starting to get away with a heck of a lot more.
Then i find this article... today
I think it's the Buffalo fan in me, that reads this and thinks... "they'll find a way to steal the cup from us this year"
It gives me nightmares that we'll hit the cup finals and be playing a pre-lockout officiated standard vs the trap & grab Ducks, and watch 2000's finals all over again, losing in 6.
