18:20 PT: ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a five-year deal with newly acquired LB Mark Simoneau. The deal includes a $1.5 million signing bonus and will pay Simoneau more than $3 million over the first two-years.

here is my 2 cents.. they just got 2 more draft picks... maybe they are a little more willing to give up that 3rd or 4th rounder now.. it is rumored that atlanta doesnt have an issue with the first rounder TD wants.. but they do have issues with the additional pick td wants.. is the 6th rounder enough to sweeten the pot? it works for me.

ESPN.com has learned that the Falcons actually pitched Simoneau to the Buffalo Bills last week as part of the teams' discussions about a trade that would bring wide receiver Peerless Price to the Falcons

I'm with you. If it's true that the Falcons don't have a problem with giving up thier #1 I'm gonna be pissed if TD loses this deal over a stupid 4th round pick.

Absolutely FtG!!

If TD's gonna let this hang up over a later round draft pick while running additional risks and tying up such a huge amount of money and thereby limiting our opportunities to fix the D, then he's not as shrewd as many say. I'd be all over that first rounder if in fact they are offering it. I'll be you a ton of ZBs that Seattle would settle for a lot less than two picks w/ one being a first for D. Jackson.

BTW, Bob Matthew's column today confirms that ...

" "Reports out of Atlanta claim the Falcons are prepared to deal the No. 23 overall pick in April’s draft plus a later-round pick to Buffalo for Peerless Price. "

So if we're bickering over a 4th rounder or something then TD's nuts. Even if he gets it. Who cares. It's not worth the risk of the deal souring or taking much longer than this week. Trade Price and let's get on with it!
