NFL fines Cowboys' Owens $35,000 for spitting on Hall

NEW YORK -- Terrell Owens was fined $35,000 by the NFL on Monday for spitting in the face of Atlanta's D'Angelo Hall during Saturday night's Cowboys-Falcons game.

The flamboyant Dallas receiver was not suspended.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello announced the fine, which came after Hall knocked Owens out of bounds on a pass play during Dallas' 38-28 win.
Owens apologized for the incident in an interview after Saturday's game.
According to a report on the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Web site, Owens now says that he doesn't recall spitting in Hall's face and accused Hall of blowing the incident out of proportion to deflect attention from his bad day in coverage.
Hall had called for the NFL to suspend Owens.

$35K is pocket change to him. He'll be laughing about it as he pays the fines.

That guy is a classless POS. The league should teach him a lesson, and sock him with a $3.5 million fine. That'll make him think twice next time.

Owens is a punk and I watched him apologize several times during his interview on NFL network, although it was a half hearted apology. He deserves the fine.

I could tell that Deion Sanders was quite po'd about the incident. If he wasn't interrupted, he would have continued to pound the subject with Owens.
