Re: Pro Bowl Snubs -- Lee Evans
I would argue that Lee Evans deserved to make the probowl over Andre Johnson easily.
There's a few stats that greatly favor Evans.
(a) Evans averages 15.5 yards per catch. Which constitutes big play ability, w/o question. Johnson knows that first hand as Evans torched his Texans for over 200 yards. Johnson, on the other hand, only averages 11.2 yards per catch. So he's primarily a possession reciever.
(b) Evans has more touchdowns than Johnson.
(c) While Evans has less receptions than Johnson, he represents a bigger portion of the passing offense in Buffalo than Johnson does in Houston. In fact, I think Evans is the league leader in terms of largest percentage of a team's total receptions. So ostensibly, he's getting jobbed b/c Buffalo doesn't pass as much as Houston.
(d) Evans has 4 fewer total yards than Johnson. Which is nothing. So you gotta go w/ the guy who has a better average.
However, Javon Walker probably deserved the nod over both recievers, in all fairness. Walker has more touchdowns & a better average than both guys, plus he's over 1000 yards as well.Disclaimer: The sentiment expressed in this post is strictly for entertainment purposes only.
