It's funny how you only need two "strong" QBs when Doug's one of them!!
From the article, by Bill Johnston is in his 13th season as the Chargers’ Director of Public Relations (LOL);
" When the Chargers line up in Cincinnati on Sept. 8 for the season opener, the Chargers come out ahead which ever way the competition ends. They win twice because they have one of these quarterbacks on the field and the other on the sideline."
Yeah, if Doug lines up, they win b/c it won't be long for that 9 game losing streak to continue on well into double-digits thereby getting the better QB in there.
The guy goes on to cite two recent examples, one flawed, of two teams who needed two strong QBs to reach the SB: St. Louis and N.E.
He conveniently seems to ignore the majority of teams that had only one, or all the teams who merely had an average, often lesser QB, who simply benefitted from having a world-class OL.
Skins never had one unless anyone thinks Theismann was much above average. Last year in his N.E. example, DB didn't play.

Teams w/ no 'strong' QBs who won:
Chicago: McMahon
Skins: Theismann, Williams, Rypien
Giants: Hostetler
The only common thread to all those teams that ever won the SuperBowl were strong rushing games and very solid defenses.
Interesting though how any team that has Flutie on it's roster...
A. Has some sort of controversy involving him whether stated or not
B. Has to use the "two strong QBs" argument in order to justify things
and
C. Suffers from delusions that he's even "strong" inspite of actually putting points on the boards.
