    The Sabres will not win the cup and heres why..

    Trust me I hope I am wrong.

    I just dont think the NHL wants us to win, honestly. I think they'll do whatever they can to make sure we dont have a chance.

    That whole Mckee "waking up with a messed up leg" thing is a little fishy. And go figure, hes traded in the off season. Hmm. I just dont know.

    I dont think the NHL will want Anaheim to win it either.. Dont be surprised if, amazingly, the Capitals or Penguins make it to the big dance.

    This coming playoffs you will see plenty of blown calls or bull**** calls against us. Teams will be taking cheap shots without a doubt, because thats the only way they can beat us is if they put fear into our boys.

    But give em hell Buffalo!!

    Mckee had a Cut that got infected because of sweaty equipment.. its his own fault for not cleaning and dressing the cut like he's supposed too.

        Yeah, then why wasnt the "cut" publicised? I never heard about until gametime. Saying that he had gotten cut, then it was infected.

        BIGGEST GAME OF YOUR LIFE AND YOU DONT PLAY BECAUSE YOU HAVE A CUT ON YOUR LEG. How bad could it have been honestly? Did he need surgery?? Just really makes no sense because McKee is a tough guy no doubt.

            If the NHL could script the season like wrestling, they would get teams from LA and New York to win the cup on alternating years.

            Sidney Crosby would be a Chicago Blackhawk or LA King, and Stanley Cup finals ratings disasters like Tampa/Calgary or Edmonton/Carolina would never see the light of day

              Probably because cuts are usually routine because players clean them and bandage them like they should.

              But his cut got a staph infection in it. Staph infections are nasty and can lead to pretty serious health issues.

                    Staph infections are very serious. They can lead to heart problems, brain damage and (Rarely) death. They can cause very high fevers and the bacteria can become resistant to anti-biotics. It is not a condition to mess with.

                    In addition they can be extremely painful, making a limb essentially worthless.

                      agreed....... you would think that the team would have the equiptment managers taking care of that...... although maybe they are superstitious about things..... a lil sidebar when i was in canada, we had this station where the guy brings his hockey equiptment to a health lab....... had all sorts of bad things on it...........

                        not really gangreen is when the tissue dies (it can be accompanied by a bacterial infection). Staph infection is a bacterial infection. People get staph infections all the time actually. Ingrown hairs are a type of staph infection as are some pimples. staph bacteria lives on the normal skin but sometimes gets into a place where it rapidly replicates and builds up a lot of pressure and starts eating tissue. Many times, you wouldn't know one is brewing in you for a few days or more and then a fever would show up indicating there was a problem and blood tests would indicate infection.

                          how are they going to take care of it? Many staph infections are from healthy staph bacteria living on the infected persons body that just got to the wrong place. It takes time to see if the body can't control the bacteria and antibiotics are necessary and the antibiotics take a few days to start to work. They might take down a fever within a day but any serious pressure would have to be drained or waited out.

                            How did the NHL manipulate McKee into sitting out that game? Even I don't believe that one. I do believe Bettman has out for the Sabres.

                              im talking about as far as the equiptment goes......... obviously the fact that it was on his body as well didn't help the cause
