(December 29, 2006) — ORCHARD PARK — As usual, Ralph Wilson's Christmas card this year was clever, humorous and right to the point.

It pictured the Buffalo Bills' owner and his wife, Mary, pumping oversized dumbbells in the Bills' weight room with the caption: "Building for 2007."

"We were almost 8-7, we just didn't wrap them up today," said Wilson as he mingled with his players in the locker room after Sunday's 30-29 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

this is a rare gem as far as the normally crappy reports from almost all media sources go.

I find it interesting that even Leo sees that were likely to use the revenue sharing issue as an excuse to be cheap. Obviously he didt say it that way, but the point is there.

Of Buffalo's key unrestricted free agents (Nate Clements, London Fletcher, Chris Kelsay, Mike Gandy), there is only one player who can be considered a priority and that's Clements. But if talk of a $20 million bonus surfaces, it will be time to cut bait.

That would leave a shopping list that looks like this: a defensive tackle to play on the center, a middle linebacker to back him up, a veteran cornerback should rookie Ashton Youboty not pan out, another offensive linemen or two.

As for running back Willis McGahee's demands for a contract extension, listen but don't cave, and if needed, draft one. Unlike some positions, good running backs do really grow on trees.
        Very accurate imo.

The only things I would add to that list are: maybe an additional young LB and, definitely, a blocking FB. Another offensive play-maker would be nice, but isn't essential (still it would be nice....) as long as the young players that they have and add continue to develop and learn how to win.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.
