Dolphins | Saban to accept Alabama coaching job
Tue, 2 Jan 2007 14:05:00 -0800
Chris Mortensen, of ESPN, reports Miami Dolphins (http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl) head coach Nick Saban (http://www.kffl.com/player/9162/nfl) will accept the job as the head coach of the University of Alabama football team, according to a team source. Saban has been quoted as saying he is "really struggling" with the decision.

No QB, Taylor retiring maybe, now Saban. Can you say, 0-16!!!!!!!!!

If his heart isn't in the Dolphin job, then good riddence I guess!

He may go, but this is unconfirmed.

See the thread I started on it.

There's a 10am deadline tomorrow.

no it won't. He's 1-3 against the bills and could've been easily 0-4 if MM didn't give the game away.

Exactly. He hasn't exactly set the world on fire in his first two years. As much as I'm happy to see turmoil in Dade County, I'm not really that afraid of Nick Saban running their organization.

 wow.

Saban should have never left LSU to begin with.

I don't think there is anything "official" on this yet.

I was personally hoping that it would be true just to screw with the Fins some more.

There's not.

So...officially, this has to be considered yet another humongous failure of the Fins front office as well as for Saban himself. Saban came, did nothing outstanding, and left the team in worse condition than when he got them. And yes, I say worse conditions due to the fact that they have something like 20 FA next year and are too close to the cap to re-sign them all. With JT possibly retiring and the overall age of the defense, the Dolphins will be rebuilding for the next few years! Not only that, but now they have to find a coach and compete with Arizona and Atlanta who have decent teams already and just need a good coach to take it to the next level...and possibly even the Giants...

The Fins are a mess and it might be hard for them to attract a coach to their team!!! They might have no choice but to promote Mularkey...

Mularkey for HC and Donahoe for GM. They cut Culppeper and then sign Bledsoe to a 5 yr. for 100 million guranteed contract. . They trade Ronnie Brown to the bills for Willis straight up.

If Saban leaves, this has to be the biggest screw over anyone has ever done to any team . Wayne over paid for Saban to grab him from LSU and he's done nothing to show for it. Oh wait, nevermind, Rob Johnson comes to mind.
