    Lindell coming to Buffalo

107.7 WNSA reported this morning that kicker Ryan Lindell will aslo be in Buffalo on Thursday. Don't have a link. Does anyone have any info on Lindell? How well did he do while in Seattle?

Sorry dude. Just saw that. I think he will be our next kicker and Hollis will end up with the Jets.

        The guy's huge for a K: 6'3"/237

His stats seem pretty good. He struggled last year from 40-49 but who knows under what conditions those were in. Other than that, he seems solid w/ a career 7/12 from 50+. Assuming that a couple of those were fairly long, he sounds like a good option.
Replace Donahoe with Modrak and fire the entire coaching staff!

        Then let's go to Disneyworld!

I don't have the link handy, but sportsline.com has player stats you can look up either by position or alphabetically. Lindell has played 3 years, was an undrafted FA. His yearly stats are:
            2000 - 15 of 17
            2001 - 20 of 32
            2002 - 23 of 29

Percentage wise his first year was by far his best, but 2002 wasn't bad.

He's a big guy which potentially means he could be stronger, but all in all seems pretty ordinary. Also, he's kicked at least half his games in a dome, under ideal conditions. It would be interesting to see him adapt to life outdoors. I wouldn't think he would be terribly expensive.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

With that size, maybe he can tackle.

Tackling is not his job. Their job is to kick that ball and call their QB a Pansy.

I think P. Edinger would be a better option.

Who are you. This is the first step toward recovery Wys. I'm so proud of you. Maybe the allure of the stats is not as strong as we once thought.

He wouldn't help our Kickoff coverage unit - 0 touchbacks last year. I guess he couldn't even muster up one of those line drives that skips by a returner for a touchback. For a restricted FA, I don't think he warrants losing a draft pick, even if it's in the 6th round.

we would not lose a draft pick for Lindell. He was not offered a tender that warrented a draft pick. You might be confusing him with Edinger. If we sign Edinger we would owe Chicago a 6th round pick.

All I know is that there are very few good kickers available in FA'cy. I would prefer either Hollis or Lindell. Lindell's numbers seem pretty good over the past few years. Didn't the Seahawks play outdoors last season? I thought they built a new stadium. But if I am mistaken and he did kick in a dome, then that might make me a little nervous.

I agree Bulldog. Hollis or Lindell. Although John Carney is available and he can really kick the crap out of the ball, it makes me werry that almost all of his playing time was indoors or in sunny SD.

It's good he is big so he can tackle with our S.T. unit covering kickoffs.
