I can only see the FO taking a shot at a proven DT like a rod coleman. It would be great if they could find a way to good a good deal for shaun rogers from detriot. The guy is still young and one of the most underrated run stuffers in the league. He and Marinelli don't seem to get along so they might be looking to move him.

Yeah he had a big year, but RFA aside does he fit their cover 2 scheme? As far as I know Rogers knows the system since Marinelli uses it in Detriot.

Are there DT's from teams like Zona, Dolphins (yikes) , Raiders, Pitts that we could possible trade for. These teams may be going a different directions and the new coaches may go on a grage sale.

He's an UFA. Tank "Rambo" Johnson is a RFA. They could also take a look at Alfonso Boone, although he's on the wrong side of 30.

Scott isn't all that big. He's a Tim Anderson who can make a play every once in a while.

Tank can play. Too bad he's so messed up.

in theory, I guess I understand whether the DT needs to "fit the cover 2" - you want faster, penetrating tackles...

but, if you can't get those faster, penetrating tackles, shouldn't you just get a freaking big beast who can at least stand up the center/guards and help you stop the damn run?

also, I seem to remember guys like Fat Pat and Sam Adams getting into backfields quite a bit - I can't say the same for any of our DT's this year.

I'm sure we can find a second string cap casualty from some non-playoff team and try to turn him into our starter- that's how these situations are usually handled in Buffalo.

Let's trade Mike Gandy and a 3rd to detroit for Shaun Rodgers - it would be a win win situation for both sides.

I have always liked Boone too.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
                              It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
