Wide receiver David Boston agreed to terms on a contract with the San Diego Chargers on Wednesday. The number of years have not been disclosed but the money is in the neighborhood of $6 million a year along with a $6 million signing bonus.

Boston, whom the Cardinals elected not to franchise, had more than $7 million a year on the table from the Cardinals, who didn't want to guarantee much money with signing bonuses. Boston is considered perhaps the best player available in free agency.

Good to hear. I wonder what kind of trouble he is going to get in in Southern California. Hopefully him and Darrell Russell and Sebastian Janakowski don't get together.

Atlanta send us your pick.

WOO HOO! Way to Go, Butler!

I can just picture Peerless Price crying because he was not a UFA and was not able to get that money!

I'd sure like to see how that contract is structured. I didn't think that SD had more than $2-2.5mil left this year.

Those of us who are impatient with TD can at least be thankful that we don't have Butler negotiating contracts. IMO Butler is off his rocker.

I am sooooooooooo glad we got rid of Butler!!! That guy just cannot stop spending money!!!

Welcome to your worst nightmare San Diego...the John Butler school of caponomics!!

Thats why Boston cancelled all trips he had planned. He saw what the loony GM put out in front of him and fell off his chair. He knew no other team was going to offer that to him. Just wait till LT and DB come up for contracts. Butler will skip town right before that club falls apart.

Drew Bree's super long bomb arm will make that almost as good of a signing as the Tim Dwight contract the other year.

A 6 million dollar bonus is not bad at all. We gave Moulds 12 million. He won't see most of that money that averages him 6 million a year.

That's not bad at all if you ask me. His signing bonus was half of what Moulds got.

Yeah it depends on what he really gets. Many of those contracts, especially for players with injury concerns, are ballooned at the end and the average per year figure is meaningless.

It would be funny if Dwight were a cap casulty and we signed him for the vet minimum. :snicker:

Christ, Butler gave Dwight a 5 million dollar bonus. They got a steal with Boston for 6 million.

Dwight in Buffalo?
Not gonna happen. Remember a year and a half ago when he called Buffalo
a horrible place to live ? I know some were praying for Flutie to get nailed when the Chargers came to town Dec 15th but my hope was that that  maggot Tim Dwight caught a pass over the middle and got his  head taken off by Wire and Fletcher.
