And it's not like he took Mike Shula's job. Mike Shula was fired and Saban was hired as a replacement. That isn't really "taking" someone's job.

Saban got him fired.

His agent was (in November) running around looking for a college team interested. Alabama fired Shula when they talked to his agent, and realized Saban would be interested in the job.
