The Dolphins' search for a coach may be making a bold and nostalgic reach toward the past with the team interviewing Mike Shula, son of Don Shula, over the weekend.

Shula spent Saturday talking with Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga and his staff about the possibility of succeeding Nick Saban.

Ironically, Saban left the Dolphins to become coach at Alabama after Shula was fired by the Crimson Tide.

The idea of bringing Shula back to the franchise has been kept under wraps because the team wanted to gauge if he was indeed a legitimate candidate for the job. Having had two interviews, he apparently is.

I think it would be funny if they hired him.

I don't see him being a very good NFL coach.

It would be a terrible hire. The guy only coached, what, two seasons at Bama?

Don't forget his stint as the Bengals head coach.....of course that was what, 15 years ago? Here's hoping they make the hire.....and he keeps Mularky on as OC.

That wasn't Mike Shula; it was his brother.

You mean like Bill fans and Dick Juron??? This is nothing more then respect for Don, we won't hire any Shula as HC.

To be fair, it seems like Bills fans will give 25 reasons why "_______" was a bad hire. And yes, I do realize what board this is.

FSU just got rid of Jeff. Just as one of my teams finally gets rid of a problem, the next one is considering it.

To be fair, it seems like Bills fans will give 25 reasons why "_______" was a bad hire. And yes, I do realize what board this is.
Obviously there would be some chop busting that would happen, but there will be positives and negatives with any new hire. It may take a while before the mess that Wanny and Saban created is properly dealt with. Don't get too discouraged in the process.
