As the days drag on, I get more and more excited for the Bills next season.

They played the Pats (early game), the Chargers and the Colts in regular season this year, and might have been the better team on the field. If the Bills had won just one of these games, or imagine if they had beaten all three, we might have been watching them in the AFC Championship game last night. While the Ravens might have been tough to get past, the Bills had the Jets number all year long. They could easily of contended with either the Pats or the Colts this post season, and would have given the Chargers a run for their post season choking money. Who knows what could have happened?

All I know for sure is the Bills are on the right track. They need just a little more consistent play and 1 or 2 key components to beef this team up for a hard playoff run next year.

Let's look at the division:

Pats - While they will still be marked as the team to beat in the division next season, they aren't the Pats of yesteryear. This team's secrets are all out in the open now, and the key to beating them is as plain as the tears on Marcia Brady's face. With Dillion now retiring, the one two punch falls to the waste side. I can't imagine Bruschi and Brown have too many days left in New England either. That "dynasty" is withering.

Jets - The new year will have much to tell about this team, but what we know for sure is that Pennington, while he's an admirably cerberal QB, his arm strength is surely in question. They'll be looking to fish for a QB this off season. A young drafted QB means nuturing, and nuturing means this team hsa some growing to do.Their undersized WRs hardly make them an offensive threat and their defense isn't exactly threating either.

Miami - Defense = old but durable. Offense = 2 wins for us if Mularkey is still in place come September. They might have the greatest amount of potential on offense in the entire division, however. Culpepper was clearly still injured and came back way too soon (as most of us perdicted) this year. He should be ready to go this year, and with weapons like McMicheal, Brown and Chambers all returning, if the Dolphins improve their offensive line, they're just a step away from having a stellar season in 07.

Buffalo - Defensively they have a sure shot at improving drastically. I think that it's safe to say that Clements is out, but like the Colts have proven, if you get a better run defense in the Cover 2, having stellar corners is not a necessity. Add a better defensive rush, combined with a more experienced Simpson and Whitner in the secondary, you're going to be seeing a lot of picks by the defense this season. Offensively, Losman has many weapons to target. IMO, the Bills are one interior lineman, and a hole opening FB away from doubling the production of this offense. They have the deep threat in Evans, and a slew of quick release, inside receiving threats in Cieslak, Reed, Parrish, and the up and coming Wilson. A FB opens the running game to a patient runner, such as McGahee, and a better Guard improves the run through the middle as well as aides in the added seconds Losman needs in the pocket.

Good things to come!!
