His 2nd assist should have been a goal. They gave it to Ovechkin instead. Granted Ovechkin had the initial blast, but Briere redirected the puck at the crease for the goal. It wasn't going in otherwise.

Regardless, he proved himself yet AGAIN.

Anybody see him standing next to Chara?

5' 8" beside 6' 9" = funny

Thank you....I was thinking the same thing and was surprised no one else saw it. That goal was definitely tipped in by Briere.

They just wanted one of their special players to have a goal.

Also agree with you about Briere and Chara. I was laughing my ass off when I saw them next to eachother. :snicker:

Well if any NHL fans didn't know who Daniel Briere was, they sure as hell do now. he is now a household name. There is no way we let him get away after this year. But you can rest assured, he will be a top free agent being sought after unless we resing him before he becomes a free agent.

How much is this going to cost the Sabres to keep him?

I think he'll be reasonable with the salary if, IF Darcy gives him a LONG term deal. None of this two or three year garbage.

He loves the area so I'm sure he'd be willing to take a little bit of a hometown discount.

Yeah, Briere is so much better than Crosby based off one ASG...

Who cares, he's worth it. We can sacrifice elsewhere.

Yea, lets cut half the team for this guy! He's worth it!

Not.

He got 4 assists and a goal in an ASG. How hard is it to assist a star? Not hard.

I would have given it to Rolston or someone on the winning team who had 2 goals and 2 assists.

Yeah, who said cut half the team. Talk about an over reaction. And his performance in the All-Star game has no bearing on my wanting him to be locked up long term. The guy is the point leader on our team and will be for a while if we keep him.
