I have to ask this because I can't figure it out. Let's just say the Sabres were to trade for Shane Doan. Let's say his salary is 3.2 million per. OK, the season at the trade deadline is almost 3/4 over. How much of that salary goes towards the salary cap? It doesn't all count towards it, does it? Or is his salary counted 75% towards phoenix and 25% Buffalo?
I need an answer on trades

I wasn't saying I would like Doan, it was just an example. I should have just said Joe Blow.
