    Poor baby Patsies. Awwww!

This team ought to change its colors to rainbow. They are the biggest babies ever.

Patriots | NFL admits to making mistake on Hobbs' pass interference flag
    Fri, 26 Jan 2007 18:48:13 -0800
Shalise Manza Young, of the Providence Journal, reports the NFL has admitted it was wrong to flag New England Patriots CB Ellis Hobbs for defensive pass interference during the Patriots' AFC Championship Game loss. Hobbs was face-guarding Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne in the corner of the endzone on the play. The pass hit Hobbs in the left arm and Hobbs said he never touched Wayne on the play. League official Dean Blandino confirmed to Jaguars.com's Vic Ketchman that it was a bad call. Blandino said Hobbs did nothing to impede Wayne from catching the ball, and he did not make contact with the receiver.

Fug em, Im glad they are toast, they can whine themselves back to lady shick stadium.

Wait a minute. I didn't think that a "face guarding" call required contact. He never made a play on the ball.
After all the bad calls that have gone New England's way over the last 5 years, I think this is just the law of probability beginning to even things out.

He impeded the receivers ability to come back for the ball. I've seen this called a hundred times over the past few years. Why this deserves any discussion, much less an apology, is sad.

It was a terrbile call. Facegarding is when you impede the receivers ability to see the ball without turning to look for it. Hobbs didn't do that at all, Hobbs made a nice play. There was also a non call later in the game where an Indy CB virtually mauled the receiver on the play without a call. Regardless though.

to the best of my knowledge, Face guarding is not a penalty in the nfl anymore (i think it was removed 4 or 5 years ago)

they took it out of the books to prevent 'cheese' PI calls.

I have ZERO sympathy for the Pats. If every correct call was made against them, they wouldn't have ONE SB win, much less 3.

Pats fans will be whining about this for a decade without ever acknowledging the ridiculous number of questionable calls that went in their favor during their run. It's about time this **** caught up with them....

Ever hear of karma? The Pats have benefitted from so many bad and blown calls over the year that eventually it has to come back to them.

Of course, even with this one bad call it doesn't make up for the Pats mauling the Colts receivers in the playoffs and getting away with it.

Frankly this ain't even a story.

Face guarding is no longer a penalty.

In the end, this didn't effect the game. While Indy did get set up on the 1 yard line because of the penalty, even if it hadn't been called they don't lose the ball. It would have been 3rd-and-7 on the 19, and considering how they were moving the ball they probably would have scored anyway.

However, anyone who calls the Patriots whiners is off-base. If anything, it shows they don't whine about this crap. You didn't hear boo from the Pats on this, because they know Indy won the game.

                    Only losers blame the refs.

Now all that's needed is about 20 or 30 more bad calls for the Pats and that should square thngs up for them.

I swear, someone in the Pats orginization sold their soul to the Devil.
They've been on a high for so long, all of a sudden, like right after Brady took over, that any teams fans would love to experience.
Doormat to SB Champs, with some of the craziest calls to ever keep a team rolling, I have ever seen (tuck rule???)
IMHO It was Viniteri(?) that won them all their SB's and got them there.
He's no longer there, and just luck isn't enough anymore, goodbye Patsies, it's time to pay up, rot in hell.

NE: I don't think anyone is saying that the Pats organization is whining, just the fans. But I find it odd that I've never heard an apology issued for a blown call before, but the Pats get one after a huge collapse, on a play which, like you said, didn't determine the game.
