would be nice huh?

i think td may have been able to sign spikes and sam without trading price.. so the extra 5 mill should mean we can add a guy like Hugh Douglas.

just a though

sounds too good to be true though

is it wrong to have dream about this stuff during whoopie?

Hugh doesn't even have a visit with us planned. He has 5 teams plus the Eagles are still looking to sign him some how.

At this point, I wonder is there anything TD can't do?

:hump:

well an extra 5 mill may change that schedule.

We have draft picks to sighn still and some depth to look for and sighn. If we get Adams and Spikes I think we will be done with big names.

I agree, Hugh is over priced and old.

do any of you guys think we will sign a good free agent WR when peerless is traded and if so who would be a guy worth looking at?

ArcticWildMan
03-07-2003, 01:08 AM
No. We have Josh Reed as our 2nd RCVR now. I think we'll draft a speed rcvr with the 2nd pick from Atlanta as a replacement guy.

If the right guy comes available, we may sign a FA rcvr, but I imagine it wouldn't be a name most of us would recognize.

I would go after K. Dyson from Temm or O Gadston from Miami.

doubt either wants to be #3 though

Ach!!!! Hiss!!!! Ick!!! Gadson can't stay healthy!!! Besides, there is an unwritten rule...WE do not draft Miami's outcasts. THEY sign ours ;)

I remember TD stating clearly that if we trade Price, we're gonna get a veteran WR, im sure of it.

ArcticWildMan

If so, it'll be a June 1st outcast. There really aren't any RCVR's we SHOULD be interested in that are still available (I think Dyson may have been an option, but he signed elsewhere, didn't he??)

I thought I read today that he retired. May have been his brother...I can't keep track of the two of them.

His brother Raghib is the one who retired.

Derrius Thompson from Washington was mentioned as a potential replacement for Price. They sure aren't showing very much faith in Josh Reed, - but it could just be that the Wide Reciever position takes a while to develop. Moulds and Price both didn't have their breakout seasons until after 3 seasons.

When Moulds is on his way down (which will be a while) Reed will be in the middle of his prime.

I don't see it as a lack of trust or faith in Reed. Last year, this Offense required 3 good WR's to be productive. Just think back to how many 3rd downs were converted via passes to Reed. I see a need for a third solid WR. As to who is #2 and who is #3, well, that's what training camp and preseason are for. . .

Of course, we may see a more balanced attack this year. . . but I really don't see Gilbride breaking away from a decade-plus trend he has to throw the ball too much.

I like the idea of bringing in Derrius Thompson. Anyone know what he will be asking for with regards to a contract?
