well...this is it for me at least till october...prolly for a couple of years. due to my parents bein completely unfair i am not allowed to go on the computer after 10 this mornin. why? because i decided not to play school soccer. i am an honor roll student, a good well rounded person, responsible...but i am bein treated like im droppin out of school or somethin...nope just not playin soccer. oh well...i hope you all have good days....good lives. have fun at the opener for me since im not bein allowed to go to that either. this really pisses me off...its a freaken sport and im not good enough to play in college or anything...its just supposed to be for fun...and its not...so im not playin. oh well.

Jeff, I'm sure this "punishment" won't last forever. I'm sure your parents are just disappointed you won't be playing soccer. It may not be you not playing soccer that has them upset as much as it is they'd rather see you outdoors instead of inside on the computer. The internet can be a very addicting habit and maybe your parents feel your time would be better spent outside, exercising and interacting with people you can actually see and touch. Give them some time and then sit down with them and see if you can work out a compromise. :) I'm sure your parents are just doing what they feel is the best thing for you right now. Talk to them in a calm manner. I'm sure something can be worked out. Good luck. :)

i wish you were right jaded...i play basketball every day and i go running. it is just about soccer. my mom says she is never talkin to me again...you know what that's like? 16 years i was the best kid i could be...i could get into full detail...but i got a ton of friends i need to e-mail too and i only got 40 minutes left.

My wife is a school teacher, so I see all types of parents, and normally I can chalk it up to them being unintelligent or downright pshyco, but this does not make any sense whatsoever.

Funny, when I was in school, back in the middle ages, my parents discouraged me from getting involved in any sports. My older brother finally went out for wrestling. The coach wanted him to lose weight to drop in weight class. He nearly got seriously sick. That didn't help matters. Then I had a knee problem, Osgood Schlatter disease in both knees. for the uninformed that's calcium deposits where the tendons are attached to the knee. The doctor warned me that if I kicked a ball just so or even ran too hard the tendons would snap off at the bone. I played some sand lot football and never got seriously hurt, but when I ran around for a while, then sat down for 15 minutes, I couldn't walk because my knees hurt so bad. I was recovered enough in college that I became a pretty decent tennis player, nothing organized though.

Phil, I haven't played in quite a while. My last opponent moved away about three or four years ago. I'm overweight and out of shape, but I'd be willing to take a crack at it. I think it's a bit like riding a bike, while you can get pretty rusty you never really lose the knack of how to hit or make a serve.

ok...wow...my parents def. did something i never thought they would....they admitted they were wrong. jeff is goin to the opener and computer again. and no...there is no part of the story im not telling you. and...i wasn't on the computer at the time i was said i was. my dad could have been...but not me. and uhh...judge: i previously stated that I do get excersice...play b-ball and go running every day. they were wrong and they actually admited it. now i feel like a moron for makin a big deal out of this...i guess they thought they would just threaten me...then i would give in or something.
