I wouldn't give up picks for either unless they were late 2nd day picks. Since we already spent our 5th on Hargrove, I don't see us trading any more picks away.

As RFAs, the minimum tender of $850,000 yields no draft choice compensation for Lilja because he came into the league as UDFA. Scott was a 5th rd pick in 2004 of the Colts, so his compensation would be a 5th rd pick.

Teams can now put 2nd rd tenders on RFAs as well as 1st and also 1st & 3rd

I wouldn't be surprised the Colts put 1st rd tenders on both but at a minimum, 2nd rd tenders

Do you really think that with all of the free agents they have that they will go that high on both, clumpy? The Colts have a history, over the last couple of years, of letting their OGs go as free agents.

I really like Lilja, but that's a lot to give up to get him if they do that. Especially since DeMulling (and I think another one of the OGs that left them) really didn't do that much once he went to Detroit.

DeMulling was a guy that a lot of people, or at least some, thought that the Bills should sign when he went to Detroit. Anyone still think he is worth picking up? He's a free agent again and probably could be gotten fairly cheap.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.

Colts would be foolish is let either walk..........why not keep them together?

minimum tender is $850,000 basically guarantees Lilja walks, maybe not Scott

2nd rd tender is $1.3 million. I doubt either gets much play with the compensation a 2nd rd pick.

With 1st rd tenders only $1.85 million, why not lock up your starting OG's another year at below league average?

Doubt the highest tender of $2.35 million would be considered

Colts could tender both at the 1st rd tender and keep their OL intact another year

See the problem with the Colts is that their funds are already spread incredibly thin already, and they are going to have to work on signing quite few players.

Two starting G's: I don't think they'll be able to retain both.

They have contracts due for both CBs, Cato June, Dwight Freeney, and Dominic Rhodes (to name a few).

The way Addai is playing, you'd expect that Rhodes will be allowed to walk. They might be able to sign either June, or Freeney, but if they sign both they might as well let both starting Guards walk right now.

                          No they wouldn't

There are UFA OGs available who would play at their level and not cost picks

Some interesting insight into the world of RFAs.

I am sure Marv and Co. will look into each RFA and even try to get a couple like last year.
