</small> The Buffalo Sabres (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/buf/) and the Atlanta Thrashers (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/atl/) are both atop their respective divisions and appear headed for the playoffs. That doesn't mean each team isn't experiencing its fair share of problems.
Both clubs look to rebound from disappointing losses Tuesday when they meet at Philips Arena.
It seemed like the Thrashers (29-18-8) would coast to the Southeast Division title just a couple weeks ago, but they have lost three of four and are only 5-6-0 in their past 11 games. That slump has allowed red-hot Tampa Bay to pull within six points of the division lead.
"We're still in first place and need to get these games," Atlanta's Ilya Kovalchuk (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/2944/) said. "Buffalo is six or eight points ahead of us. We beat them once, they beat us once. It's going to be a big game here."

Buffalo (35-15-4) has also been struggling with a 4-6-1 mark in its last 11 games. Although the Sabres have a comfortable 10-point lead over Montreal in the Northeast Division, their lead in the race for the top spot in the Eastern Conference has been sliced to four points over surging New Jersey.

The usual suspects are slacking, so I guess it's my duty to step in.

What a pretty goal by Briere, bats it out of mid air to make it 1-0!

I just got back from the gym- it looks like the streams that Skatezilla posted are working! It's not as good as watching it on my 50" LCD but beggars can't be choosers and it's infinitely better than just the audio feed.

I may have to get back in my car though- I heard them score both those goals on my five minute drive home.

there is another huge advantage to the streaming video- I can take the laptop with me anywhere in the house with the streaming video.

It's great to watch the games!

Chalk that goal up to the referee's. Where was the penalty when Max was hooked just before the Vanek penalty.

Very fun up and down the ice hockey game... and I don't want to hear anybody ***** about the refs because we definitely got away with some crap in that game that should have been called.

Good to see our PP get back on track tonight at any rate!

So Briere got a hat-trick correct? Since that was the game winning goal?

He is on fire!

No, shootout goals don't count in stats.

I thought only the winning goal counts in stats?

it does.. towards shootout winners, not towards season stats,

shootouts are a completely separate stat from Goals/Assists=Points...

And Briere did not have the winner, Kotalik did.

And Briere did not have the winner, Kotalik did.

No Briere had the winner. Kotalik's goal only made round three unnecessary.

And Briere did not have the winner, Kotalik did.

When the Score is x To 0, Since hte other team failed to score, whomever scored the First Goal for the winning team scored the GWG.
