Salary cap Status of All 32 Teams

With free agency nearing, find out how much each NFL team is over or under the salary cap.

Just so everyone knows, Buffalo has the third most cap room ($33 million) in the NFL out of 32 teams as of right now. Only Tennessee and SF have more cap room than the Bills.

And ummm.. EVERY team in the league has to put aside money for resigning players, bonuses, draft pool, etc.. No matter what way you look at it, this team is in PRIME CONDITION to seriously upgrading a number of holes before the April draft.

If this team has EVER been serious over the past decade about making a championship run, it will sign some key veterans at key positions to blend with the upcoming young talent the team already has and a coaching staff that has now been together for more than a full year.

No more excuses-- If this team is serious about becoming an upper-tier team, they will go out starting March 12th, have an impact and get the majority of the fans excited about this team again.

Some of the contracts given out this year are going to be ridiculous. Lots and lots of teams with lots of money...... And even the teams that don't have a tone of cap room now are going to find ways to renegotiate or cut some guys to give them more.

Lots of teams will use cap tricks like Not Likely to be earned Bonuses to make it look like they are spending but carry it over to other years like Eagles do. This will make them flush with cash when others teams are overpaying on gold rush era caps.

            FYI:

The numbers posted by Clayton and PFT do NOT include:

            1) Escalators (McGahee and maybe Losman) ----> decrease available cap space
            2) CAM adjustment (league wide) ------> increase or decrease
            3) CAP adjustment (NLTBE/LTBE) ------> increase or decrease

I've never been a proponent of the 'We've got the extra cash, let's just blow it while we can' perspective. Just because we're the third richest guy on the block doesn't mean we should grossly overpay for somebody's services.

Why pay a guard 10mil when you can get a guard AND a receiver for the same amount?

Here is another more detailed link that the alien put out... sorry if its a re-run, but I didn't see it elsewhere...

Who's in the best shape entering the offseason? John Clayton takes an early look at how all 32 teams stack up for 2007.

                      Buffalo Bills
                      Cap room: $33 million
It's hard to tell whether the Bills are ready to jump the 8-8 hurdle. Dick Jauron brought an air of stability to the franchise last season. J.P. Losman showed signs of being a promising young quarterback. But if the Bills make the wrong decisions in free agency, they will be in danger of sliding back. They figure to lose cornerback Nate Clements. They could lose linebacker London Fletcher and defensive end Chris Kelsay. With $33 million of cap room, it's hard to believe they would lose anyone, but these are the decisions facing Jauron and general manager Marv Levy. Finding a replacement for Clements will be impossible in this market unless they get Asante Samuel from New England. They will probably cut quarterback Kelly Holcomb. The Bills should be able to make some major upgrades along the offensive line. Mike Gandy is a free agent, and the Bills have to decide if they want to keep Chris Villarrial at guard. Through the draft and free agency, they have enough ammunition to improve the shaky blocking from last season. The line is the thinnest unit on the team.

Nothing new for us, but it gives decent perspective on the other 31 teams.

                        Good point.. However.

When it comes to the Bills .. that "guard AND a receiver" theory.. The GUARD turns out to be Bennie Anderson or Tutan Reyes.. thats why.
