According to the Detroit Free Press. According to them he should net a first day pick. Might be worth it to us if we lose Nate.

The Lions have given cornerback Dre' Bly permission to seek a trade.
Bly is considered a poor fit in head coach Rod Marinelli's defense. "I have a tremendous amount of respect for Matt (Millen) and Rod allowing me the opportunity to find a home for Dre’ Bly that is more conducive to his Pro Bowl skill set," the cornerback's agent said. Bly, a playmaking cover corner who's not yet 30, should net Detroit at least a first-day pick. Feb. 13 - 9:11 pm et

No thanks. He's washed up.
Maybe but he's still one of the better CB's in the league.

I'd be willing to to do it for a 3rd, or a conditional pick next year. No more. Ultimately, I'll trust in Marv as far as the CBs go...

Bly is considered a poor fit in head coach Rod Marinelli's defense.

Marinelli's defense is the Tampa-2. He was DL coach in Tampa for 10 years before taking the Detriot job.

Jauron was DC with the Lions, so he might know a thing or two about Bly... if he thinks that the guy can be a more than adequate replacement for NClements (if he does indeed leave), maybe a 4th rd pick (I know that they are asking for a 1st day pick, but that's only part of the negotiation process) for him wouldn't be such a bad investment...

Anyway, I'll trust MLevy & DJauron on this one...

Later,
Pat

DO NOT GIVE UP DRAFT PICKS !!!!!!!!! There are other FAs out there who can do an acceptable job that won't cost. If they really don't like him then lets wait for him to be cut

Dre Bly = Terrance McGee

I don't know you want two corners on the same team who repeatedly are burned for chunks of yardage by almost any capable number 1 or number 2 reciever.

I don't think the Bills are going to be too keen about giving up any more draft picks since our 5th was traded away.
A conditional pick in 08 is better, but I agree with a previous post. There are other CB's out there who could be had in FA.

Maybe but he's still one of the better CB's in the league.
Is he washed up or still one of the best in the league. Make up your mind.

It says on ESPN that he wants out of the cover-2 scheme ... he wants to play man coverage. If he hates the cover-2, then he will hate coming here.
