It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

A motivated Woody is a very good player. It is rare a guy his size has his athleticism and ability to pull and lead block.
His problem his whole career has been motivation. When motivated and in shape he is a very good player. The Pats coaching staff kept after him and made him get in shape, and he was a very good player. After signing the big contract in Detriot his weight problems came back and he wasn't the same player.
As for injuries, I don't think he has suffered anything career-threatening. It is more a matter of staying in shape, so perhaps getting released is the kind of eye-opener he needs to get his act together.
He did have some off-field issues in Detriot. He is being sued by a woman who he was having an affair with. He reportly put her up in a house and told her he was going to leave his wife and kids and marry her. However, he dumped her and she went public, filing the lawsuit. The lady broke off her engagement with another man, and she said he promised to support her. She filed the lawsuit for $250K.
Granted, he doesn't seem to have done anything illegal. Still the incident was embrarrassing and blew apart his image as a good family man.Comment
