    Jamal Lewis to be released

    Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports the Baltimore Ravens are expected to release RB Jamal Lewis before he is due a $5 million roster bonus in March. If the Ravens cut Lewis, they are expected to save $3.3 million in salary cap room.

    If he doesn't cost to much I would like the Bills to take a look at him, he can be the power RB that we are looking for.

    The Giants might have something to say about that. Considering they have no RB, they are bound to offer more than we could - including starting on day 1...

        no one seems to realize that they have Brandon Jacobs who was one of the best back up RBs in the league for the past 2 years.........Brandon Jacobs is exactly like Lewis except younger which was why I highly doubt that the Giants will pick him up

                  A couple of teams I'd expect to take a long look at Lewis.

                  1- New York Jets
                  2- Green Bay
                  3- Houston
                  4- Denver
                  5- Detroit

                    I'd have to agree. I mean, they're dumping him for Mike Anderson, whose...what? 4 years older? Lewis has worn down considerably...
                    Good riddance Fairchild. Of course, the knowledge of your departure will only make TE more hateable than the typical Bills QB. Good luck, hope we don't mess you up like JP.

                          Lewis has done some good things in his career beating Priest Holmes for a job, 2000+ yards and 5.3 YPC in 2003. However he is nearing 30 and his production has gone done drastically, 3.4 and 3.6 YPC the last 2 years. I fear his shelf life is expired and isn't worth more than a 2 year deal. We are not looking for a 2 year fix at the HB position.
                          I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
                          "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
                          You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
                          It was all                           true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
                          He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can                           mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
