even though its technically a loss........ usually once you get to OT, one team should be able to muster out a win, but sometimes both teams will just play keep away just to go to the shootout...... and in the case of some of the basement dwellers, their content with a point

...they're...

truthfully, it was getting silly after each team had sent in 6 shooters...the goalies are way too good these days...personally, scrap the SO and OT and just give out ties.

how many shooters did they go thru, like 15?

even if they just skated up and took wrist shots youd expect one in fifteen to go in so it got pretty exciting when they kept the gooseggs going that long. except for the end result it was the most exciting shootout i have seen

it was fun

you said it, the Briere video review goal when the refs had to chase the Bruins back onto the ice after they were in the locker room, Jeanneret and Lorentz were having fun about that also you should've heard them last night. 2 fights and a shoot-out that took what 15 players to decide it, and we still got a point out of it. I was hoping it would come down to PETERS that would've been funny to see him shoot.

if they go through the entire roster do the goalies take shots against each other?

(NOTE 4) Each team will be given three shots, unless the outcome is determined earlier in the shootout. After each team has taken three shots, if the score remains tied, the shootout will proceed to a "sudden death" format. No player may shoot twice until everyone who is eligible has shot.

No, it doesn't really feel like a loss... I was dissapointed at the end, but not nearly as much as I am if the Sabres lose in regulation. I know they're still getting a point and that certainly dampens the effect.

Maybe after the 3 shooters and it is still tied, they should just give both teams a tie.

no way i like how sometimes they go back and forth saving innings like in a baseball overtime

The goalies don't shoot, but it would have been fun to see the truely skilled players like Peters, Mair, Tempo, Kalinin, and Lydman shoot that would have been a blast.

Then why bother, last nights game was exciting. Play the game till theres a winner. 65 minutes for a tie what a waste.

I like the SO. If they play OT till someone scores the games could go on way longer than needed. I like the OT rules in the playoffs but I wouldn't like it in regulation. The SO is fine.

I'm not crazy about the shootout...but i like the alternatives even less. Maybe it would be better to go to a three point format for a regulation win.
