I agree that this probably would never happen but Belfour is the absolute perfect backup veteran goalie. I actually have more confidence for him to step in for a few games over Marty. Plus Belfour is playing great lately.

I agree that they need to do whatever it takes to win the cup but I just don't like the thoughts of Belfour in Buffalo. To many bad memories with him.

If the deal were to go down it would involve us giving a conditional pick for next years draft. Just insurance if they don't sign marty long term. Does marty's brother still play defense for Florida?

no martys bro plays is in the montreal system but i think he's playin in the AHL.

my thoughts on the trade rumor, roberts adds some MUCH needed grit and tenactiy and eddie the eagle, altough he has a hiistory against the sabres i think he can come to terms with the fact that he isn't going to be starting anywhere and another shot at the cup is more than he's going to get by getting traded to any other team.

ALSO roberts wanted to go back to tornoto..... buffalo is close to tornoto. i dunno how the cap would work out if the sabres put max on the IR and free up some cap space.... no idea.

the deal could not go down with out the sabres dumping more salary. The sabres have about 2.8 dollars with Biron moving, they would take on roughly 3.2 mil in salary.

you have to remember that connolly prolly wont come back till the playoffs and we have about 800,000 from gaustad so we would have about about 6 mil to work with if we could add them and kevyn adams i would be very happy

Just heading out the door to go to the Wachovia Center, when I got word that The Sabres may indeed be close to sending Marty Biron and a conditional pick to Florida for Eddie Belfour and Gary Roberts. This trade has been speculated around here over the last week. Stay tuned, I will be updating from the Wachovia as the night goes...

Wayne Primaeu would have been a nice one to try and get. I know he was a bust here for a first rounder but I liked the way he matured and was playing in Boston. He turned into a pretty gritty player.

Roberts and Belfour for Biron plus any draft pick that's not a No. 1 is not a bad deal
