Make sure you start lots of chants of "Don't play too hard so you all get hurt"

I'm sure it'll pick up steam by your 3rd or 4th attempt!

The Myth of the Gordie Howe Hat Trick
Monday, April 10, 2006 Hockey lore posits that any game in which a players gets a goal, an assist and gets in a fight he earns a unique distinction that nobody keeps stats on (well, almost nobody).
The Gordie How Hat Trick.

We've all heard of it and repeated it as mantra like Sunday night when Aleksander Suglobov achieved that mark for the first time in his career.

However, one of hockey's dirty little secret is that Howe only had one GH Hatter in his career and wasn't even the first to do it.

That distinction goes to a former Toronto skater...not a Leaf but a St Pat.

Ladies and gentlemen I present.....
http://www.640toronto.com/shared/corus_content/cfmjam/images/general_content/HarryCameron.jpg

Harry Cameron pulled off the first known Gordie Howe Hat Trick on Boxing Day (appropriate) 1917 against Joe Couture of the Montreal Canadiens. Cameron had 3 goals and 2 assists along with the scrape in a game Toronto won 7-6.

Howe didn't earn his first and only until December 22, 1955 against Boston's Lionel Heinrich.

Thanks to Kevin Gibson who did most of the leg work on this blog entry.

He is famous for his line, "Ball-game over! Yankees win! Theeeeeee Yankees win!!" articulating the "the" in a prolonged manor with due enthusiasm (if the Yankees lose he will say the same thing substituting the winning team without the prolonged "the", for example 'Ball-game over! The (insert other baseball teams) win').

welcome to my life for the last 3 years..... just get the HD DVR- that's what I did. It was expensive but worth every ****ing penny.

I just finished watching the game (thanks to the previously mentioned HD DVR). Drury, Roy and Campbell all played great, and I was pretty impressed with Lydman tonight (he sucked during the last game that was televised locally). Kalinin was horrible. Too bad Paille got hurt- I think he's gonna be a good one.

This 'rivalry' has lost some of it's luster...the teams are on opposite ends of the spectrum in almost every facet of the game.
