Looks like Crowell is moving to MLB

The bills could be moving Angelo Crowell to MLB ....That would be good but starting Keith Ellison at WLB.....i think he would be a better back up.. thoughts ?

Could be an early smoke screen.....

The plan on defense is to move weakside LB Angelo Crowell inside to MLB in place of London Fletcher-Baker then move second-year LB Keith Ellison to WLB.

According to Adam Caplen from Scout.com

Assuming he heals all the way I would like the move of Crowell to MLB. I really like the way he plays.

      Piss on that...

Not so much moving Crowell to Middle as Ellison starting.. We need another good LB.. If Ellison can beat out Spikes, then all the power to him.

I doubt Ellison will beat out Spikes.

Well then Ellison should not be starting, at least not next year..

We already have one risk in SPikes at LB, Ellison is talented but still extremely green, he should have another year of development.. We dont know two "iffy" LBs

The best development is to play.

Marv's theory is that the biggest leap is between years one and two.

I have the feeling that Spikes return is 50/50. And I like Ellison's big play potential.

The more flexibility we have, the better. Guys that can play in more than one spot will help us take the most taltented players, instead of just taking a guy because we need to.

Re: Looks like Crowell is moving to MLB

Id rather cut Spikes and start Ellison with a solid new LB in the mix..

Before I'd rather start Spikes and Ellison this year..

You have a LB moving to the middle after getting used to the outside (Crowell), A former Pro bowler who looks like a shell of himself (Spikes) and a late round draft pick of a year ago who does have talent but has a lot to learn and would be very borderline as a starter (Ellison)

That combination is a recipe for ugliness and inconsistency..

Crowell played inside last year, more than many people realize. His adjustment should be pretty quick.

Ellison with a full year and offseason/preseason of work in the position would work wonders.

I have confidence that Crowell can move to MLB. He's pretty much already played the other LB positions well.

Re: Looks like Crowell is moving to MLB

crowell has been a MLB for his entire career.. other than his short 1.5 year stint outside.

spikes getting hurt is the only reason that crowell moved outside to begin with. had that not happened, he would have just continued as fletchers back up.

crowell at MLB makes the most sense. he is young, good, and just resigned.

one thing people fail to notice is, and i know it's a bad comparison, but ellison looks a lot better at WLB than posey ever did...but again, thats not sayin much, but at least we know we have a solid starter in ellison IF he builds upon last season. everyone just assumes that people are going to get better next season, and it's not guaranted, just look at mcgahee, mcgee...

While I really liked the idea of drafting Willis, Crowell moving inside is actually a decent move.

That being said if we draft a CB round 1 im gonna.........well im probably not gonna do anything but it would suck.

NO CB in the first round!!!!!!!!!

They better go LB or DL..

Hell, I"d rather draft a WR than a CB in the first round if it comes down to it.
