In two freaking seconds. We have more than enough depth at forward!

Darcy...pull the trigger on that one if it is on the table!

I wouldn't be in such a hurry to get rid of Kotalik. He has one of the best shots on the team and his absence is apparent in the shootouts. Who is Morris, any good?

I hope this would free up some cap room in order for them to make other trades. I don't see the advantage to Buffalo.

Eb Derek Morris is easily a top 4 defenseman on our team. He is stuck on a craphole Phoenix team. He adds a little bit of everything as he can muck it up a bit and has decent offensive skills. Kotalik has been average this year and can be easily replaced by Stafford IMO. Sure he is an ace on the penalty shot but how much good would that do us in the playoffs?

I was only going by this years stats...check out my previous post...his numbers look good. He's 6 foot 208...27 of his 51 career goals have been on the PP  this could be just the type of deal where Darcy pickpockets another owner.

Morris would be a huge pickup. He was actually the centerpiece of the deal that Calgary used to trade for Drury back like 5 years ago.

yeah, it appears when he was with Colorado he was pretty good...why did they ditch him into Coyote-land????

It's not it's another one of Eklund's stupid rumors  I saw the same trade on another board. Plus last night Darcy had another Press Conf. he just got back from the GM's meatings and Jim Lorentz was saying that all these players that we have injured are going to be back for the playoffs so we only have Gaustad's :$: and if the Sabres do make a trade it's going to be dollar for dollar. With that said I don't see us making a trade.

Morris has a fairly high one from what I remember.

Morris is signed through 2009 and makes about $3.9 mil per season. Doesn't look financially equal to me.

If there is anyway we could pull this off, I would love the trade! I was worried about trading for forward depth, but after seeing how all our Rochester guys have been playing...plus knowing that all the hurt guys will be back, I'd Darcy protect the Sabres from running into the same problem as last year. The defensemen are wayyy too raw in Rochester and there is no one worth a damn right now. I think that a solid defensemen like Morris is exactly what we could use as insurance. Plus he'd probably be better than most of our other defensemen. :D

Oh plus, CuJo would cover our asses for trading Biron.

How much is Cujo making? I would have thought it was fairly low. Biron is like 2.1 and Kotalik is close to 2 also right?

He's pretty much the Coyotes' fourth D-man, behind Jovie, Michalek and Ballard (I'd like him back)

According to that link, Cujo's cap hit this year is $2.9 mil.

Kotalik's is $2.3, Biron is about $2.2

The more I look at it, the more I don't like it ... sounds like the Coyotes trying to unload a guy who's not living up to his salary

I'd take morris in a heart beat. He was great in Calgary's cup run.

I would still take Morris but I had no idea Cujo was still making that much. What the ****....

Is a No. 4 defenseman worth $3.9 million? If we want to re-sign our captains, we're going to have to be frugal elsewhere.

If you want to win a cup, it would help towards that alot.

As has been pointed out, we can't afford this trade anyway.

There are several D-men on the block just as good that are more affordable.
