Trading Price...Takeo signing an offer sheet...Even bringing LeBeau to the staff...

You guys are at least making some waves...A few quick thoughts and questions.

With the #1 pick you get for Price...what position do you think needs to be filled. I am thinking D-line, but of course players available will determine that. But at least now you have the ability to move up in the draft from that spot if you feel its necessary.

Do you think Reed will be able to fill the #2 WR spot or will he need more time? I think he is ready, but there still may be a drop off in the offense.

I think Takeo will be an awesome addition to your defense (which really needs help) but I think the D line is where you need help the most. But still D-lineman aren't really available this year so you have to take the best players out there. What type of an impact do you think he (along with Cowart) will have on your D. Will signing him change your draft strategy? What if Cincy matches???

Ooops...forgot that Cowart went to the Jets...I flaked out on that one...:scared:

If Cincy matches, we are basically screwed.

I'm sure that LeBeau was offering advice to TD on how to structure the contract so they wouldn't ;)

I bet we either sign a DT or maybe a safety with our 1st rounder. Those are our two biggest need locations (unless Adams signs)

If Cincy doesn't match and Sam Adams signs (hmmmmmmm beer.......Samuel Adams :hungry: ), then the #1 could be a DE or trade down and get a pure S

Hey 054...what's the latest word in Phin land? You guys haven't exactly been buring up the news wire with events.

Well the only guy worth really going after was Gandy, but I don't think he is worth the money NO gave him. I would have liked for us to go after WR Boston, but he is another guy that would kills us cap wise.

It doesn't bother me if we don't bring in guys that are asking for a ton of cash, they usually aren't worth it. We have had some Big FA busts so I don't blame Wanny for being gun shy. We will probably be looking at guys when the cuts start coming more frequently.

What do you think about Griese?? Will he end up a fin?

Hey 054!!! Haven't seen you around these parts in awhile. How ya been?

I'll agree with AWM and CP...if we don't sign Sam Adams, then we'll probably get a D-line, I'm hoping a DT, with our 1st rounder.

Does anyone know if there's going to be a draft party again this year??

My current prediction for Buffalo is Kenny Peterson at #23. Even if Buffalo signs Sam Adams, Peterson is qualty depth. Plus, he can play outside and could give Buffalo the size they've sorely needed at LDE. Recent acquisition Keith McKenzie becomes the pass rushing specialist at LDE in obvious passing downs.

It has got to be a DE. Quality depth on the d-line is what the coaching staff wants, And besides DE's in the first round are a lock for example Bruce Smith, Erik Flowers LOL!!

i really feel like they will sign sam adams... if not, then maybe a guy like McGlocklin.

I feel like with Hardy signing the big deal in Cincy, that spikes is an afterthought now.. he is ours.

i think sam adams (who is still in buffalo tonight) will hear this news and realize that things are just falling into place for us... and jump on board for a reasonable price.

so to answer your questions 054
1. my prediction on the draft is predicated on believing we will get our starting DT from FA.. we pick a WR, or more likely a FS (mathis, ross)... in the unlikely event that a guy like boss bailey fell that low, i dont think we could pass on him to compete with Posey at SSLB.

2. Josh reed is ready. he was clutch last year and will only get better. but we wont need him to put up 1500 yards or anything.. cuz henry will be the focus next year.. run the ball and defense (sound familiar miami :) )

There would be a symetry there...I remember when he used to hang out as a kid at the practices. A lot in Finland think he would be a lock if he gets cut. But with Wann/Speil...you never know. I do know that we need to get our "franchise" QB with in the next 2 years to start learning the system under Jay. I think Griese could be the guy. He doesn't seem comfortable in Denver.

Plus Griese blows so I hope the fins get him!

Hey Thurm...What up?!?

I think Greise would be great in the right system and if his head is in the game. Plus I think he is a better QB than his old man. GOD I still see pictures in my head of his dad dropping back wearing glasses under his helmet...lmao too funny. He looked so not threatening.

What up PHIN!!! How do you like us getting spikes??? Maybe your right about Griese, but he needs to get off the sauce first!!!

Spikes is a nice addition, I haven't seen a lot of him so I am not sure how much of an impact he will make. But he definately makes your D better. Is he a run stopper or more of a coverage LB?

I think your D will improve with a solid D lineman to stop the run.

Our D has already improved.

Sam Adams will just be the finishing touch (although not necessary with the signings of Marcus Jones, and Keith Mckenzie).

Honestly PHIN Spikes is as good as any linebacker in the league IMO, and I am not just saying that because we just got him. I have seen him play numerous games against the Steelers when I went to school down in the Burgh and even since then. He has been playing for the Bungles so he didn't get much press but the Phins will find out just how good he is this upcoming season.
