Bills | Spikes Offer Sheet Details - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
17:12 PT: Len Pasquarelli reports for ESPN.com the offer sheet given to free agent LB Takeo Spikes (Bengals), by the Buffalo Bills, was negotiated by agent Todd France over a two-day period. It is for six years and believed to be worth about $32 million. Spikes will earn over $17 million in the first three years of the contract. If Cincinnati matches the deal, they assume the contract negotiated by the Bills. If they decide not to match, Spikes goes to the Bills and the Bengals get no compensation. "Signing the (offer) sheet would definitely be a message that he did not want to stay here," Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said.

Yes, the deal is front loaded. It is a big contract but Spikes deserves it. I don't think we over paid at all.
