    Lavar Arrington

No one has discussed this guys name at all on here.

I'm not completely comfortable with Spikes and Ellison being our starters come Sept. Why not take a flyer on a guy who has the potential to be a difference maker for our defense? And add another playmaker. When healthy Arrington is a beast.

Due to his health concerns and spats with Redskin management in the past couple seasons. He should be come fairly cheap. If he works out great, if not we wouldn't have spent too much money on him.

He should be able to be brought in for around the same as Kelsay if not less.

    Thoughts?

How many guys with a bad achilles do we need at LBer?
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

It would afford us the ability to cut ties with Spikes....and get the same type of player, actually IMO better player, when healthy. For half the cost. Just my thinking on it.

It puts us in the exact same spot... a LB whose recovery is questionable!!!

Might be true but that kind of injury is not something that you recover from in a year. Its a two - three - never year kind of recovery.

Dude, you're funny. You just made me laugh.

Fun, you make some excellent posts/threads but this is not one of them.

Unless you were trying to make people laugh.

I'd pass until his recovery is complete.

                      Re: Lavar Arrington

I heard he's considering retirement. I think his injuries have really gotten him down and his heart's not really in the game anymore. If he does come back, I think it'll be to get one last decent signing bonus to put in the bank. I don't think he has the hunger or desire to be a great or impact player again. This is all pure speculation though.

. . . and until he has a "heart" transplant, an attitude adjustment, and his underachievement gland removed.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
