QB Kelly Holcomb: $250,000 (from $1.235 million to $1.485 million)

QB J. P. Losman: $1.25 million (from $550,000 to $1.8 million)

RB Willis McGahee: $1.25 million (from $905,000 to $2.155 million)

As I've always said, before you go shopping...........know how much money ya got

That's $2.75 million in cap space

I've not seen any other escalators posted, if there are any more.........Evans was a possibility but apparently not.......

no wonder the Bills want to trade McGahee- they'll have to pay twice as much for a guy who's not productive.

all the more reason to trade McGahee now, regardless of what we get for him.

I guess I bothered you that I'm in your head now. :snicker: Don't worry , I have that effect on posters like you and ICE. No big deal, I'm not the only one who thinks you both pollute bz.

Actually I like you,and never take this stuff seriously (though I do hate Ice for real).

YOu bought me a beer last year at the party at the bar before home opener. IM not buying you one back this year.

What kind of escalator did Holcomb have in his contract where he doesn't play a snap and he makes more money?

I agree, Mikey. Seems like with Holcomb contributing nothing last year, he would have been in line for a salary deflator.

I'm not privy to that info..........I can only assume that being healthy for all 16 games may have something to do with it :idunno:

Regardless of what we get for him? So the Browns offer a 6th rounder you'd take it? You're a hell of a businessman you know that.

Cut Holcomb.
Trade McGahee.
Give JP this year to fulfill his potential.

I guarantee that if they trade him for less than he is worth you will be the first person starting a thread saying what a bad trade Marv made.

no way would we cut Mcgahee that would be stupid when we can get something in return for him, but Holcomb is cut for sure he's a waist of space

How much do we save if we cut Holcomb and McGahee?

Okay, I guess I have to correct this or I'll get 50 posts on why we shouldn't cut McGahee.

Clumpy how much do we save on the cap if cut Holcomb and trade Willis? I'm assuming on Willis we save all 2.1 million dollars. My thought process is that it potentially frees up another 3-4 million.

How much do we save??????????????????????? All 2.1 million.

I believe cutting and trading are completing different cap hits.

I believe cutting and trading are completing different cap hits.

Clump has an amortized bonus of $887,500 on the cap page for '06, and I would assume that would apply for '07 also as the signing bonus would be pro-rated over the life of the contract since it was under 6 years. Bills Daily has a cap savings of $830,000 for '07 if Willis is cut or traded.

So I would say we would save 2.1mil less somewhere between 830k and 887.5k, or somewhere between 1.2mil and 1.3mil, but not the whole 2.1.
