View Full Version : Well, it looks like the Vikes have lost their minds

FWIW:

Vikings will offer 2nd rounder for Schaub

According to the St Paul Pioneer Press (http://www.twincities.com/mld/pioneerpress/16790969.htm) the Vikings will offer a second round pick and possibly Brad Johnson to the Falcons for Quarterback Matt Schaub.

If the Vikings make this offer, the Falcons would have to give it serious consideration. A high 2nd round pick would be great value for Schaub.

Johnson and a 2nd for Schaub? I hope they do it so more JP haters can watch what a backup this guy really is.

Losman jacks off to the thought of Schaub. He's going to be decent for the Vikes.

Losman makes Schaub look like Van Pelt and his twin Van-Holcomb

You jack off to the thought of Jay Fiedler. Pretty sad that he's been Miami's best QB over the last decade.

Minnesota lost their minds last year when they broke the bank for Hutchinson.

To stay on topic though....

This move isn't a bad one for Minny. Schaub has shown he can play at the NFL level in the part time duties he's had. Tavaris Jackson is obviously not very polished and wasn't that high of a choice regardless.

Losing Brad Johnson in this mix is really inconsequential, Schaub would start, Jackson backup, Brad 3rd. It's a throw in so the ATL doesn't have to sign someone like Harrington to play backup.

How the Vikes have lost their mind if they pull the trigger on this deal escapes me. Like they're gonna get a better, more polished QB to help them win this year in Rd2 over Schaub.

Too bad Minnesota just released Brad Johnson.

While I like the aquisition....and lets face it if it aint this year it would be next. Someone will pay through the nose for an unproven Schaub.

The Vikes released Johnson so if this deal happens he isnt included.

Either way for a 2nd round rookie its not a bad deal. Schaub will be a good pro imo.

Let's see, give up a 2nd round draft pick for a QB who's played well when he's played, or go into next season with Brooks Bollinger as your QB. Gee, I wonder what would be stupider.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to disagree with you there, yeah. Brad Johnson is equivalent to a pack of Market lights.

Schaub's proven nothing in the NFL so far to be worth a high pick. His career stats are pedestrian and the Falcons didn't win with him behind center.

That being said, he'd be the default starter on the Dolphins. I mean it's so bad in Miami, they're to trade for Trent Green.

Nighthawk
02-28-2007, 07:44 PM
Miami is clueless! Why would you want Green? He is no better than Culpepper and when healthy, Culpepper is the better player.

Goobylal
02-28-2007, 07:46 PM
Green should prove to be as good without Gonzalez and Holmes/LJ as Culpepper proved to be without Moss (in 2005, before getting hurt).

Has Schaub really been that great, or has he just looked like a highly competent QB in comparison to Vick?

It's a pretty steep price, but Brad Johnson was awful last year. The Vikes are pretty desperate and they aren't going to get anything in the draft to help them this season.

Homers..

If Matt Schaub was a Bill he'd be a budding superstar..

You people criticize the Vikes for possibly giving up a 2nd rounder for a QB that most people around the league think will be a good starter.. and then you act like signing a 2A defensive end to a deal that blows away the only good DE on this team is a smart move..

Give me a break.. Quit being so hommerific.

After the Vikes trade for Schaub, guess how much money they're going to have to give him. Here's a hint, it will be MORE than Kelsay got.

What's worse is that Cleo Lemon jacks off to the thought of Losman jacking off.

Back to topic, it's a moot point now anyway since the Vikes released Brad Johnson already.

and how does anyone KNOW Schaub will be a good starter again?

Its a crap shoot either in teh draft or with a backup, and Johnson plus a 2nd would have been ridiculous especially for a guy that couldnt beat out one of the worst passers in Vick.

Since were talking in hypothesis here, Vick has lower numbers than Losman, and Schaub couldnt beat him out, what does that say about Losman vs. Schaub?
