We really need to make some noise improving our team...otherwise we'll be whining on this board for many years to come.

Bills | Spikes Signs Offer Sheet - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
13:50 PT: Bengals.com reports free agent LB Takeo Spikes (Bengals) signed his offer sheet Friday with the Buffalo Bills and the Bengals aren’t saying if they plan to match the contract. The Bengals, who have seven days to make a decision, confirmed they had received the offer late Friday afternoon.

I still I'm not scared of the Bills they don't have Spikes yet. They have seven days to see if the Bengals are going to match. I hope they do but one player is not going to make the bad defense that much better that they will win the divison.

If it were any team other than the Bungles I would feel much better about a matching offer. The Bungles have a history of stupidity under Mike Brown. And Marvin Lewis is not inspiring much confidence by noting "If Takeo signs the offer sheet that means he doesn't want to be here (Cinci). We don't want any players that don't want to be here".

It's not just one player. They also added Jeff Posey, are said to be courting Sam Adams, and now possess a 1st round draft pick to use on DL. Don't underestimate these potential moves. The Bills had a decent secondary last year, it was their front 7 that sucked. Well they're making strives to improve the front 7.

Miami's intention seems to be to bring back the same players and coaches and somehow expect better results. Man, this FA period is starting to look disastrous to me."

OH MY...wow, Ricky Willaims strikes fear in the Bills.

I guess...its been said that Spikes will be a Bill and Sam Adams will also sign with the Bill. The Bills already signed Posey!!! Adams is a HUGE run-stopper. Spikes provides speed and toughness for the Bills. I don't like the sound of this at all!!!

The Bills are improving and must feel that Miami is the biggest competition in the AFC EAST...and I totally agree...I still can't believe se did not win the division and IMO we are the FINS are the BEST team in the AFC East.

Mr. Wannstedt and Mr. Spielman...what's the counter-plan here gentleman???

IMO - we have to sign a proven wide receiver...we need to open up our offense.

Curtis Conway is the best wr currently available. Boston and Price are out of the market now.

I did read that they did contact Conway's agent...it was in the Miami Herald...the article stating that we re-signed D. Bowens also mentions the Fins are interested in C. Sanders (Titans) and C. Conway.

Come on damn it...sign Conway. It still looks like we'll have a tough time against the Bills next year even if we do get Conway.

GO FINS!!!

The Bills don't want to see visions of Ricky Williams running down their throats and gaining over 200 yards against them in Buffalo. The Bills know that they will get a big dosage of Ricky up in Buffalo for many years to come!!!

They know that the Fins have the best RB in the league and know that Ricky is going to dominate for a long time so...they know that they need speedy LBs.

Damn, Spikes please don't go to Buffalo.

GO FINS!!!

I'm guessing here but because of rickys maturity I dont think it matters how fast your LBs are...

hes gonna run and theres not much you can do to stop him... aside from throwing every body you have at him....

then you open yourself to a passing threat .... if we get a semi solid passing game going

I agree. If todays press conference in Atlanta goes like I think, then Peerless is in Atlanta. If that happens, Takeo is most likely a Bill. Thats just fabulous. They got Posey and Spikes to stop Ricky. Not just Spikes. Shows how much potential our boys have, and other teams realize it. So to keep Buffalo in check, it would be most important for us to go after Spikes NOW. At least make Buffalo pay dearly for him if nothing else. Man, if Buffalo lands Spikes, they are gonna be very tough. Talk about a team improvement, over the last two years, they have built a solid team.

I'm not surprised!!

Done deal. Price is now a Falcon. The list continues to dry up for us and we continue to do nothing.

Yes it does open the door for Spikes. They now have an extra first round pick...and that's what it will take to get Spikes. My guees is this deal is as good as done.

They don't have to give up a pick for Spikes. He is a transition player, CN only has the right to match, if they don't there is no compensation.

The Price trade does several things - all of which are bad for us. First it puts Reed on the field more (IMO far more dangerous than Price). Second, it does clear the way for Spikes. Third, it gives Buf a 1st rd pick to add yet another weapon - probably DB.

I would agree with making a pretty substantial offer to Spikes if for nothing else to make Buffalo up the ante and hurt their cap structure to land anyone else.

You're right....I don't know what I was thinking. Obviously I wasn't, as usual.

I am really really sorry to have to say this but what you propose makes way too much sense for our "brainstrust" to actually consider. I know I keep bashing these guys but its only because they continue to do nothing. I hate the Bills and watching them make moves that improve their situation while we do nothing is, is, is, is,... I can't even bring myself to say it.

Anyways, as buffalo gets stronger we get weaker because we have done nothing and they beat us twice last year. Lets not kid ourselves, Buffalo is upgrading to take on NE and Jets, they already think they have us beat. And sadly, they do.

Oh man, the ribbing I have to put up with up here in Toronto because its close to Buffalo and most people here are buffalo fans. Ohh the humanity!!!!!!

I don't think that the Bills really have us beat because if they did the would not try to sign Spikes and Adams who will come at a hefty price.

Lucas' 6 turnovers vs. the Bills in Miami was the only reason why we lost. In Buffalo it looked like we had them until they got so damn lucky with Moulds TD after Madison tipped it. Face it...the Bills got really luck against us this past season and luck only goes so far. I think that the Fins are better than the Bills and all the other teams in the AFC East.

I agree...I'm also pist that we have not been as active in free agency as the Bills and other teams."
