    Chargers: Brees named starter

San Diego head coach Marty Schottenheimer named Drew Brees the starting quarterback for the 2002 season, according to Chargers.com. Schottenheimer informed Brees and Doug Flutie of his decision on Sunday night.

I guess Dougie will start working the locker room now and trying to turn players against Brees. How long before we see an article in the SI stating an unnamed Charger player thinks Flutie is the better quarterback. That's a lot of money for a backup...I'm sure Wys is smiling now...

Dang! I thought he'd eventually take over, but I didn't think this soon. Good for Marty for recognizing what needed to be done.

That sucks! I guess I won't see Doug play at all this year. I have so little in life and watching him run around the field is one of the few pleasures I do have. I'm sad.

9 losses in a row will do that to you...

I'm sure that it was someone elses fault.

It was his OL's fault. They were too tall.

He'll never get the chance to show he wasn't at fault for those 9 straight losses....

He's a team player now. In Buffalo it was Rob's fault. Dougie says so.

                        It's all Rob Johnson's fault.

It's too bad San Diego doesn't play Tampa Bay this year. I would love to see Rob Johnson starting for Tampa and having Doug Flutie watch from the sidelines...Will Doug need a booster seat to watch the game from the sidelines?
