Myths debunked and future rules to live by....feel free to add:
1. The BILLS signed someone and you guys still complain! (ex. Thurm)
This comment if made in person would likely result in a kick to the face. If a team needs a DT and their GM goes out and signs a 3rd stringer, a "former 1st rounder with potential", a player who had a decent season 5 years ago....or Tim Anderson it doesnt make it ok. In fact we often refer to this as "counter-productive". In other words just because a player is signed doesnt mean its ok to not *****.
2. OMG OMG OMG THE BILLS HAVENT SIGNED ANYONE!
Firstly anyone who says this jokingly about posters who feel this way should be gang raped by a herd of elephants....twice. Sarcasm is funny most the time, in the above case its not. So stop doing it.
Of all years this aint the one to put off signings. They better not only get to it but get to it fast.
3. Chris Kelsay is getting his market value, this was a good signing....etc and so forth.
There really is no debate. Kelsay was over-paid. And not by like 1-2 mil. Whatever he got cut that in half and thats what he EARNED. Thats what he should have gotten. HOWEVER with the amount of money being thrown around and the lack of market pretty much it was probably necessary.
In conclusion, people upset with the signing......well done. You have every right to be. People happy with the signing....good! People happy with the signing and ***** about people unhappy with the signing see the above comment about a kick to the face.
Not being happy with the signing does not constitute a "sky is falling attitude". Dont be ******ed.
4. The Bills will not be active in FA.
Duh.
5. Ralph Wilson is cheap:
See Chris Kelsay signing.
6. Trading Willis will hurt this team, or at the very least hinder its growth:
Willis was a great college back, came back admirably from his injury in 2004....played well in 2005 and flopped in 2006. While one could make an argument for keeping him or dumping him getting rid of him at his peak in value is the smart thing to do. A simple pr-con chart below will help illustrate.
Pros:
Tough
Strong/Good Size
Shows up to play against the Jets
Fertile
Gives interviews to Penthouse magazine
Cons:
Not effective between the tackles
Rosenhaus
Dumber then a bag of hammers
Fertile
Not exactly known for his leadership
Rosenhaus
Gives interviews to Penthouse magazine
Rosenhaus
7. We should resign Fletcher:
I like Fletcher, I do. Hes been a playmaker and a solid all around presence for this team. Signing him is one less worry wed have. However an MLB who has a problem tackling before a RB hits th 5-6 yard mark might be an issue in this scheme. Call it a hunch. Again I made a little chart, those with your crayons try and follow:
Cover 2 - not Fletcher
No Cover 2 - Fletcher
Moving on.
8. Our 1st pick should be:
The only non acceptable pick in round 1 is K, P, LT, QB, SS. We need everything else.
Whats that you say? What about Ko Simpson! News Flash you insert Landry or Nelson in at FS instead of him...... well lets just say no one would ever come over the middle. I like simpson he just seemed to be the first player someone would use to debunk this.
Marv can draft almost anyone and improve our team.
Well now that ive solved all the Bills forum issues I am moving on to world hunger. Feel free to add.
