All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Am I the only one who likes the Jason Whittle signing?
Am I the only one who likes the Jason Whittle signing?
Not only does he bring experience to our O-line but when he has played he has had success.....he is better than mediocre i guess the best word for this guy is underated
Re: Am I the only one who likes the Jason Whittle signing?
Reyes did bring experience.. He started all 16 games at right guard for Carolina in 2005 on a team that made it to the NFC Championship.. THat's not experience?

1 year of tsrating experience isnt real experience
Re: Am I the only one who likes the Jason Whittle signing?
I just KNEW Pat would throw a hissy-fit. Reyes cannot play nearly as many different positions as this guy, and also isn't as experienced. . His age isn't a concern because
1)He's a linemen
2)He has a short injury history
3)He relies on technique and smarts
I wouldn't mind this guy relieving an injured guy on our line or even starting. Seems like the sort of player you don't notice...which is good where olinemen are concerned...
Good riddance Fairchild. Of course, the knowledge of your departure will only make TE more hateable than the typical Bills QB. Good luck, hope we don't mess you up like JP.

Actually..Im not throwing a hissy fit.. There are worse guys they could've signed.. With ONLY youth at guard right now, it makes sense.
However, I sure as hell aint going to get excited about it or act like marv struck gold like some people on here surely think.. He's yet ANOTHER signing for little more than depth.. If this guy was brought in to start, we are in trouble.
AS stated above, I'd like to see us start acquiring some STARTERS and then begin to fill out our roster with some decent depth..

Re: Am I the only one who likes the Jason Whittle signing?
Well ya.. He could potentially be a good role player..
But with the FA's we're losing.. We have a MINIMUM of three starting spots (CB, LB, G) that we need to fill; and that's not counting some positions that could use an upgrade with what we have coming back (#2 WR, maybe TE and the other guard spot)
Sure the draft will be huge for us.. but this team is NOT good enough to rely soley on the draft.
I'm VERY interested to see who comes here next . This signing dont mean much, we'll know a lot more about the direction with the next one.
