Raiders Free Agent RT Walker Visiting Today

The Buffalo Bills are hosting their first unrestricted free agent today as Oakland free agent right tackle Langston Walker has arrived in town and is making his way to One Bills Drive.

Walker is a massive tackle/guard that has been a two-year starter for the Raiders. Last season he was Oakland's starting right tackle for all 16 games. In 2005, Walker started the first six games at left guard before missing the rest of the season with a stomach injury.

Raiders right tackle Langston Walker has voided the final year of his contract and will be eligible for unrestricted free agency this offseason.

Walker was Oakland's only consistent lineman in 2006, and NFL Network's Adam Schefter believes he'll be a big name on the market. The Jets, Lions, Cowboys, and Chiefs are all currently needy at right tackle.

This would actually be a good signing. He can play guard or tackle.

Definetly a need and a decent player.

I hope he was the EXCEPTION in Oakland, because wasn't this year's OL there one of the very worst in the history of the NFL?

I remember him well , coming out of Cal 5 years ago.

2nd round pick and is a 6-8 345 lb. monster who can actually move pretty good and block the sun.

Guys hes terrible, He allowed more then half the sacks to happen on the raiders. I feel sorry for any team that signs him.

I'm going to be less cynical on this. The guy started 16 games at RT and he's massive. Plus he could play at RG. This is better than a depth signing. I'm hanging on by a thread here.

Pat is right about one thing. The Raiders had the absolute worst OL in the League and I haven't watched this guy specifically because, well, it was the Raiders.

The Contra Costa Times reports Walker has voided the final year of this contract and will become a free agent.

2006 scouting report
Can down block and collapse the line. Is a good anchor, drives his feet in short yardage and has good stunt awareness. Is very adept at blocking kicks because of his arm length and height. Lacks strength and needs to improve his work habits.
