Actually, considering there isnt a guard on this team in his league.. and market-wise, unlike kelsay this is actually a great value deal.

Seems like a good deal to me. You have to spend a lot of money on the O-line, and the Bills FO has finally realized that. Should still have some room for other needs too.

Those numbers don't mean much. It is the guaranteed money that matters.

I have no problem with it. It seems in FA, it's all or nothing. Either you overpay for good players or get useless table scraps. We've had quite enough of the latter, so I have no problem with breaking the bank at least once, and I've said before that if we're going to do it, let's do it at guard. We need an instant upgrade, and FA is the only way to do that. Whether it's a good signing or not can't be determined until we actually play some games, but we're taking a real shot.

Holy cash to the cap, Batman!

My fears were without warrant- we actually spent some money. Woo hoo!

I don't see how anyone could ***** about those numbers, if they're accurate..

4 years, 49 million, yeah... but to lock the guy up for 7 years, sounds like a bargain to me.

just like with kelsay.. we wont know how this effects anything till we see an official breakdown.

based on everything else overdorf has done though, i am assuming that the breakdown will be fine.

yeah. I don't think we can determine what kind of cap hit he's going to give us until we see the signing bonus/salary numbers.

Devin says it is $16M guaranteed, which is too much for an OG. They paid him like a top tackle.

I dont care what the effects are.. You cant win in this league with a wack offensive line and by signing Dockery, the Bills just made a huge statement that they are going to own the left side of the line of scrimmage.

aka JP's darkside... now he'll be able to see everything without fear of having his spine eaten by a pack of rabid wolves.

Yeah but with the importance of the running game in the NFL today a guard is almost as valuable as a tackle. Especially an elite guard that can take your running game to a whole new level. And once your running game is dangerous that instantly takes the pressure off your passing game and voila! A guard just became as valuable as a tackle.
