Browns have signed OT Eric Steinbach (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/396092) to seven-year contract worth $49.5 million with $17 million guaranteed.

That's a lot of money for guards. I could care less about Steinbach, but Dockery better earn it :D

Steinbach's the better Guard, so it's a tough sell not to say that we entirely overpaid.

It does leave one questioning whether we could have had Steinbach for maybe a little more than we offered Dockery, or even the same.

If the money was the same, why didnt we sign him?
Its a rhetorical question.
If we were talking with his agent and made similar overtures to Steinbach, he should have been headed here on a plane. Instead he was headed to Cleveland.
That tells me he either didnt want to come here or we never called.
Either Im fine, I like our signing, and the money doesnt come out of my pocket so who cares.

Maybe Marv just thinks that Dockery has more upside?

I think the Bills believe Dockery is the better player. And Steinbach played between better players than Dockery did.
