Cap idea

Does anyone think this is a good idea...

When the current CBA is up, the owners should lock the players out and force a Cap similar to the NBA where a player contract can only make so much (Capped based on position).....
The Draft salaries should be set and set low so teams aren't banking on the draft so much like they are.......a lot of teams force youngsters to the field a year sooner than they should because he was drafted in the first rd...etc
this will keep salaries in check and increase at a slower pace than they currently are rising....

if this doesn't work, we the fans should stop going, and spending our hard earned money on these ridiculous teams and players.....

Won't work, IMO, and not a good idea.

Besides, the salary cap is based on a percentage of gross revenues, so if the owners make more money, why shouldn't the players? Also, it would take away some of the characteristics of a free market system. If an owner wants to spend his money on a guard, as opposed to a QB, he should be given the freedom to make the choice.
