The NFL Network reports New England Patriots WR Wes Welker signed a five-year contract with the team. The deal is worth $18.1 million with $10 million guaranteed.

Just seems to me they paid too much for him. Good player, hardworker this contract doesn't sit well for me.

I am all for Wes Welker getting as much money as he can, I just wish he would have done it outside of the division. Oh well, he is forever a Dolphin in my book.

However, 18 million for a receiver of his ilk is insane. I love the jack of all trades and am happy he got it, but it is way high for what he brings to the table.
